The bacon vodka didn't kill me, I've just been out of town for a few weeks. Making that vodka almost made me feel like I was making moonshine or something, there was a good chance that when it was all done it could have made me blind or killed me. But, praise the Dukes of Hazzard, I made it through just fine. So, to celebrate here is a moonshine lovin' type doing what he does best...

This weeks music is provided by Hank Williams (the first one...) This song isn't exactly the "Kick out and jam" type, but still, it fits with some of the back of wood folk theme of this post. The track is called "Ramblin' Man." I've been trying for awhile to think of something interesting to say about this song, but Hank does a good job of describing a sad hobo life better than I could.

Bacon, Art, and Music...what more is there?

Here is a look at the first attempt at making bacon flavored vodka...this is about a week into the process, but it is close to being done now after a three week long infusion...if there is another posting after this at some point then you will know I have survived the experience...

So, to celebrate the making of something to drink, here is a drawing about drinking...

So, I guess to go along with the theme...Here is a track from the Wu-Tang Clan that they did for a St. Ides commercial. There are a whole bunch of these, St. Ides actually had some credible people (i.e. Ice Cube, The Geto Boys, Snoop, King Tee...) make tracks for them back in the day and just had them rhyming about St. Ides 40's. Some of the tracks are kind of hot for being malt liquor commercials. This track is called 'Shaolin Brew,' is only about a minute long and has most of the Wu members name dropping St. Ides at least once...impressive.

Oh, and the name of that track from Miilkbone is 'Keep It Real.'
Word 'em up.

YEEE HAWWW!!! + music....

So...when I was talking about how I got put on the waiting list and that there were funnier cactus cartoons than mine...It turns out that was all lies. I got into the graduate illustration program at SVA. Bam. Here is a cowboy drawing to celebrate.

This is a track from Miilkbone (the double 'i' is on purpose) it's from '95. Guy got written off as another gimmick white rapper during the 'Ice Ice Baby' era. But, as you can hear, he was definitely nowhere near being a Vanilla Ice copy.

So, here it is the second posting...wow...Another drawing from a few months ago. These are from a portfolio I submitted to the grad program at SVA in New York. I got onto the waiting list this year, so there was something good about them, but just not good enough. I bet someone else had some cactus loving jokes that were slightly funnier, stuff with punchlines like, "I guess I should have realized you were a male sooner from all the tiny pricks." or something with Ziggy hugging the cactus and saying, "Love hurts." All top notch stuff, so I can understand why if someone else had those they would surely let them in first.

Oh yeah, I might try and do some music related stuff on here in the future...

Awwwww Smurf Buttons.

So, I figured I would give this whole business a try. I don't have a scanner yet, so I'll try updating with stuff I already have until I happen upon a scanner. Here is a drawing from a few months ago to kick this thing off, oh and sorry if the text in the second one is hard to read (you can click on it though to make it more readable and super huge I think...hooray forgetting how to format properly!!!)
